The area around Florence boasts many fishing options, most of them within an easy drive of the Three Mile Prairie master plan community. The most popular fisheries are centered around the area’s many small and several large fishing lakes which boast good fishing for trout, bass, panfish and even salmon. Golfing in Florence

SANDPINES GOLF LINKS

Located less than 1/4 mile from Three Mile Prairie's south border, this Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead designed course boasts an award winning design, provides wooded holes, evoking comparisons to Pinhurst, links holes reminiscent of the Monterey peninsula, to "the crescendo" (#16,17,18) played around the great central lake. OCEAN DUNES GOLF LINKS 

Designed by William G. Robinson, Ocean Dunes Golf Links is an 18-hole unique, challenging and enjoyable golf experience. With a par of 71, and a slope of 124, it is nestled in the sand dunes of the Oregon coast. This true golf links, with the native plant materials such as Scotch broom, wax myrtle, shore pines and native rhododendrons offers golfers a memorable setting. Built on a natural sand base, Ocean Dunes provides the golfer with a dry, firm playing surface year round. It offers links style pot bunkers.

Education & Enrichment

Florence is blessed with two top school districts, the Siuslaw School District and the neighboring Mapleton School District. They have all day Kindergarten to remedial and advanced programs for students of all grades, active STEM programs, extra curricular activities, and after school sports programs. The Christian School is open to all faiths for students up to eighth grade. The Lane Community College Extension Campus offers associate degrees, enriching non credit courses and seminars and courses for business people.

Enjoy the Coastal Dunes

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is 31,500 acres that stretches for 47 miles long and one mile wide down the Oregon Coast. The sand dunes range from Florence, OR to Coos Bay, OR. with about half of this recreation area open to off roading.

There are several staging areas, lots of parking, many access points and various campgrounds throughout the dunes.
